After I was asked to produce movies for BlenderNation more regularly I had to decide what the first one would be. And I decided I should introduce myself and explain how I got there because with luck I was going to be showing up much more often and I didn't want anyone in the dark.

Wow?! How did I get here? Well, about a week ago I made a movie that wound up on the site.

And the response was generally good... encouraging in fact. And so I joked...

Hey. I should just make videos for blender nation.

And to my surpise I got this e mail

bringing up that exact idea.

After a brief celebration

CHRIS

I accepted the offer and here I am today. Now, I have come a long way... well there's no kitchen behind me and I have a haircut. And now I spend many hours a day honeing my blender skills so that I might aide those struggling beginners poke hints

This section was dropped because it broke the flow of the movie. Sometimes larger sections of script are thrown out during editing. A lot of the feel of the movie comes together in the editing phase which makes it prime time for deletion of slower paced segments.

Ah blender a jedi's weapon.

But how did it get this way?

I think people liked my presentation style.

I wasn't just a voice and a screen. No sir. I take the information given and find strange and interesting ways to exhibit it.

CHRIS

Blender Nation said go ahead we'll try you out.

What's the worse that coudl happen?

CHRIS

I don't know getting kicked off? having about 1000 people tell me I'm wrong.

As for my purpose here... I can be a conduit

funneling developer community info into the end user.

I have been known to compile binaries.... that dont' have international font support... or ffmpeg... or game engine. ... Compiling can be a harsh mistriss.

The line was dropped because the extra information wasn't relevant.

I voice my interested to help out those new to blender.. fight the good fight as well as cover dev news and I'm sure people will have their suggestions for me too which I'm inclinded to take when thousands of people. What right do I have being here?

Now I wake up everyday thinking blender.. living blender.. sleeping and eating blender.
