Robot Beach

jsdf

It's hard to say how long that took to render. At first
the software told me 18 hours then it told me 15 and now I think I should time these things myself instead.

You can see the grainy pointillism style noise in
the month and on the sunglasses. It's rather easy
to light a scene with the default sun settings.
It makes me want to try an architectural model
next time.

I decided to start rendering things that were
actually nicer to look at for once. (Though I would
not call this nice to look at for it clashes far too
much but the idea is that it's more complex than
a set of rectangles.)

Note that when you view the same image at a smaller
size you don't see the grainy noise as much
The only difference is computational time.
Despite the advice you may hear...
"Render the thing twice the size and than shrink the image"
This will not speed up the render. It's just a matter
of the computer semi randomly calculating light ray samples
in the image. All it takes is time and computational power
for the noise to go away.
I will say that it can be nice to have it render a larger image
so that you have the option to post the smaller crisper version
on let the larger one render out for later. But that's it.

NO speed increase that way.
