First Class Schedule Visual Completed

The Program as it looks by the end of the night.

Congratulations Computer Information Science you are
now the first major I have processed in this manner. How fitting
that it would be you.

There are moments when I think to myself.
"Man, maybe I'm not cut out to program."

But then I write like a page of code and it runs
the first second or third time and I smile so big.
Writing up visual tables is much more entertaining then
shifting through Moodle code for work.

It's good to have something to show for an hour of effort
rather than an incrementally better understanding of a massive
system. (Those long hours shuffling through code tend to make
me feel .... erm inadequate.)

It's funny because I was dreaming up how I would place dots
inside of other dots to show the spots and the spots taken
by students in those courses. And now here it is. Just
as I imagined it.

And I have plans to xmlize the data and I've added auto
collecting.

Soon the made data back end will be finished and I can just
let it run. Then I'll enhance my visuals and add a bit if
interaction and once that is done I'll be able
to kick back and watch the semesters enrollments fly
by.

...
I'm hoping to see some good variations. Even if it's
a little sparse for the most part I'm looking for spikes
which is why the beginning of the semester is so important
to catch.

Weird - I’m in one of those classes :) Good job with the practical and understandable use of visual analytics. Lots of people in the software biz just mess around with pretty pictures that don’t add meaning. Oh, and thank the gods for fixed-width fonts!
