Why not bring back a souvenir?

An Intriguing Challenge

Bekah's Organ Concerto through my eyes.

I sat there listening to the music as I recalled things I had read about
computer modeling and real time instrument emulation. This is to say that I spent the time watching this concert imagining over a conversation about simulating instruments. As I recalled the topics from the book "When Things Start to Think." By Neil Gershenfeld my interest in the old idea of simulating a single note from a phantom horn was rekindled.

Still, I have not gotten a chance to pursue the idea but as with any idea of mine that keeps bouncing back in this way... I know it will happen someday.
In fact the idea was first recorded on January 22, 2008 ""If you put a guy in a room with only a computer and a physics book and asked him for a horn sound. Could he do it? "

I think the challenge I have in mind is about completely pulling off the simulation without the aide of any research from anyones papers... but if I ignored that for a moment I did find a paper called, "Simulating the sound generation in flutes and flue pipes with the
Lattice-Boltzmann-Method" here

I suppose 'I' or someone out there could code that and post the file.
Whatever happens, when ever happens... I'll be sure to make a movie of it.

Notes

In other news...

Did you hear the one about the guy whom heard the big bang?
"I decided that I really needed to hear what the Big Bang sounded like."
It's in moments like those true genius is born.
"The Sound of the Big Bang"

Very useful.

Only 20 or so minutes before I had a working with an iCal format
parser. And docs to read into using it.

gotta go compile some raytracer someday... I want photorealism man!

Reading about PyXML

Inspired by Sofia's bear story I decided to mark the idea
of some sort of token icon that contains a GPS tracker and
have the data logged on a website. That way people whom come accross
it and pass it on can see where it goes.

It's up there with ideas such as Post Secret and the Telegarden.

Have you ever considered the number of verbs at use at one
time at all places on the planet? Would it be every verb in the
English language? Or do some verbs simply not happen all that
often?
