People come through here and then they leave. Its a sad reality
that many people you meet will move on. It makes making friends
futile to a degree. But I don't fully believe that. The social graph
has a funny way of catching people for future reasons. Simply being
informed of their existance and being able to talk again makes a
difference. Perhaps, in a world where connections really matter, it makes
all the difference.

Sim Sound?

If you put a guy in a room with only a computer and a physics book
and asked him for a horn sound. Could he do it?

I was walking about today when it struck me that that would be an interesting challenge.
though I don't know how one would simulate the material properties
of vibration. I do think I know how to make a virtual mic for such
a virtual instrument. And then my computer science mind goes off
on its usual tangents. Limits as things go to infinity and what not.
What could this simulation say about a horn 3 miles long? Etc.

I come to realize I intend to explore many such projects. Projects
that answer certain questions about reality. Even ways to optimize
class schedules. It's a common problem. And common and semi difficult
problems are the most interesting things to solve.

When the Shell Breaks 8:21 PM

I've walked down the halls today and spotted various
friend reunions of the kinds that always occur on the first
days back to big social institutions such as this one. Those moments
do make me smile but I found several moments in the day where there
have been akward encoutners with friends whom I have strayed too
far from to get back to.

My mood stunted, if it wasn't for all the other little puzzles
powering my attitude towards life I'd be washed up on the shore
the same way rotting seaweed is. And I take pause and wonder just
how long it takes to reset the people around me. How long does one
wait before an area becomes devoid of those whom trigger harsh
memories and painful sorrowful glances? Or must I move to some
new location for such an action to take effect?

Take refuge in the text and the solace that comes from
separation.... to return someday when skies are again
sunny and ready for another trial run through a social
bog. If such a thing is required that is.
